About the Voice

The Seminole Voice is a web based newspaper, covering the areas of Oviedo, Winter Springs, Chuluota and Geneva. Visit on your computer, laptop, tablet or mobile device and you’ll find us. With more than 10,000 pageviews each month and an average of 72 percent in new visitors, our website has emerged as the source for everything LOCAL including community news and interest stories, as well as coverage of politics, events and athletics. and our website pulls in over 10,000 visitors each month.

But don’t be surprised when you see us converting to more “quick hit” stories and more video than you’ve seen in the past. If you want us to let you know when news breaks, or just when we’ve written a nice long-read story we’re proud of, be sure to like us on Facebook or follow our Twitter feed. We also have a weekly newsletter we can email you to let you in on all the new stuff happening in your area. We send our enewsletters out to 2,500+ readers each week.


We welcome story ideas and submissions to our Letters to the Editor section, Calendar, Family Calendar, Notes and Senior Bulletin. Send these to

Letters to the editor should be 400 words or less and include the writer’s full name, city in which he or she lives and contact information.

Calendar submissions should be in sentence form and contain the event name, place, date/time, admission fee if applicable and a contact number/email/website for more information.

Notes items can be any community announcement, including commendations or other accomplishments, either by a person or by an entity.

This is a service we provide to the community, and it’s always free of charge. Deadlines are 5 p.m. Friday for the following week’s issue.
